How it works
Pick your interests — hiking, chess, fermentation, antique radio repair, anything. Add your own if it's not on the list.
Nearkin shows you groups and people within a few kilometres who share the same interests. Ordered by distance. No algorithm deciding who you see.
Join a group, reach out to one person, or start a group of your own. Every connection is mutual — both people choose each other.
The goal is a walk, a game, a shared meal. Nearkin gets you to that point and then gets out of the way.
Most social apps are built to keep you on them as long as possible. Nearkin is built to get you off it — into the world, with people you actually want to spend time with.
Your location is reduced to a neighbourhood zone before it leaves your device. Exact coordinates are never stored. We couldn't sell your location even if we wanted to.
Every part of your profile — photo, bio, interests, location — is individually shown or hidden. You see exactly what others see before you publish anything.
No reputation scores, no verified accounts, no follower counts. People are described, not rated. Trust is built in person, the way it always has been.
Finding people nearby is always free. No paywall will ever stand between you and your community. If Nearkin becomes valuable to you, you can support it — not to unlock features, just to keep the lights on.
